Needwant return to the regular home, Basing House for a label night that kicks starts the big London bank holiday weekend on Friday 24th August. Two of their most sought after artists: Mario Basanov and The Mekanism take to the Funktion One soundsystem to deliver their unique take on House.
Mario Basanov is an artist who has been gradually entering the consciousness of every music lover. Over the past eighteen months the Lithuanian based producer has released an album with production partner Vidis, as well as presenting stand out solo remixes for the likes of Metronomy, Crazy P and the recent emotive deep house remix of Millok & Zigelli. Mario’s own productions have hit new heights too, We Are Child Of Love racked up over 200k views on YouTube and this year will see the release of his debut full solo album.
Meanwhile The Mekanism are a young French duo, just getting started and destined for great things. Having released their debut EP on Needwant at the start of 2012 their stock immediately rose as the their tracks ‘Can’t Believe’ and ‘Missing Love’ made an impact on just about every House dancefloor worldwide. Their electronic sound sits somewhere between Metro Area and the new wave of Jamie Jones inspired bass driven house music. Remixes for Noir and Mario himself have only cemented their stature as a hot production duo.
