Saturday 29th May sees the launch of London's new bi-monthly night 'Nothing But Us' which will be taking over and settling into the upstairs of The CAMP by Old Street.
Sounds like: totally non-instructional late night party music with some good times sleazy disco, Italo and house jams with a trace of yacht rock and just about anything in between. Think somewhere between the Paradise Garage and the best mix tape you’re first boyfriend/girlfriend ever made you.
Will feel like: a house-party in your parents house that’s got a bit out of hand but is so good you've just got to let it happen.
To kick this series of events off, we’re starting as we mean to go on and are beside ourselves to welcome two of London's finest party exports, Damon Martin and Ben Pistor from Dalston's very own disco mafia, Disco Bloodbath. Apart from dominating various East London warehouse spaces and sordid basements, Damon’s and Ben’s frenetic take on the disco sound has seen them make appearances at boutique clubs and festivals all over the shop with Damon rocking discerning dance floors at Bugged Out, Secretsundaze, Horse Meat Disco, Fabric, The Warehouse Project, (Manchester) Big Chill Festival and Scala (Berlin) whilst Ben will be fresh from playing at the Eastern Electrics festival, as well as the BLOC weekender and Snowbombing.
Both Damon and Ben have earned themselves reputations as impeccably varied selectors and will be exercising their ultra wide ranging music policy, so with a completely free rein, expect to hear anything from mid-tempo funk rarities to Italo-influenced sounds and really fat sounding original NY & more recent electronic sounds to get everyone moving. Either way you’re going to be treated to some highly danceable disco and a journey into all kinds of musical corners.
Warming things up will be Nothing But Us residents Ian Pither and Chris Dyke who will be demonstrating their monstrous versatility and ability to join the musical dots between an array of genres of the past, present and future.
