Exposed to music from an early age, Tainted resident Rustem Rustem was DJing at 13, got his first job in a music shop at 17 and by 20 held his first weekly DJ residency.
Firmly established as a DJ, promoter and producer, he has a strong and diverse music background releasing tracks from Breakbeat to Electro House and forming record labels ‘Loonacy’ and ‘Spud Records’ by the time he was 21.
Working for a 12” record distribution company in 2003, he soon became Head of A&R, and by 2006 was Label Manager for the Hoxton Whores. It was whilst managing the Whores’ label that he launched ‘Sexy Trash Digital’, a breakthrough label established to provide opportunities for up-and-coming artists and producers whilst advocating his distinctive sound.
Two years on and Sexy Trash Digital is going from strength to strength, working with both talented and established producers to release a vast range of dance music tracks played on dance floors across the globe.
