Trim The Fat is UK dance music producer and DJ also known as Nicky Howard. Hailing from Beverley Yorkshire his eclectic taste and forward thinking attitude have helped develop a unique style that draws aspects from a broad spectrum of musical inspiration. His extensive production work, DJ mixes and gigs have helped established him as one of the fastest rising stars within the dance music community.
His productions has been internationally supported by many of the world’s leading tastemakers including James Zabiela, Miss Nine, Jaytech, Jay Lumen, The Scum Frog, Derek Howell, Luke Porter, Royal Sapien, Embliss and countless others. Regular listeners of Frisky and Proton radio will no doubt have heard his work with tracks being widely showcased among mixes for these stations on a weekly basis. Another high point worth a mention was when one of his remix’s received airtime on the largest radio station in the UK, featuring on the Radio 1 Essential Selection with James Zabiela.
Not content with many releases on numerous labels including Americas largest electronic music label System Recordings and his friends at the excellent UK based Modifi Music he also runs his own independent label Type Six Recordings. Launching in mid 2009 Type Six is a gateway for Trim The Fat’s production work to take on any shape or form his warped mind can conceive.
