The second instalment of No Fit State, the showcase of talent from the murmur record label, is again full of potent abilities and inspirations gathered in an intimate space at the creative heart of east London.
The Wolf + Lamb label embarked into the vinyl platform this year and have since been heralded among many as saviours of a stagnant house music scene. Widely admired for re-edits and warm original output resounding as fresh and sincere attempts to pursue new paths in the veins of dance music. Gadi & Zev, the NYC-based production duo behind the label, have agreed to share their musical wisdom with murmur’s audience for No Fit State.
Label head Geddes continues to source a high threshold of talent and releases for murmur. His own touch has played a part of the last few releases and he takes No Fit State as a rare opportunity to experiment with the more discerning side to his style.
murmur still have another three releases in store before the year end, including a debut from Mic Newman. His swift rise to prominence can be explained through a unique musical voice layered with innovation, culminating in a radical sound and one that stands out from the clichéd noise. This has led to releases on labels such as Get Physical, Dirt Crew and 8 Bit and remixes for the likes of Chicken Lips, Dirty South, and Booka Shade. Behind the console, Newman engages crowds with bespoke edits for live use and an unfathomable energy that secretes over his listeners - his sets as much a pleasure to watch as to hear.
